Cooking, Guitar II, or Sewing 101 (choose one after lunch elective)
Cooking ($15 materials fee)
Cooking class is a long-standing tradition at CHEER! Deborah and Esther students can sign up for this after-lunch course and learn basic food preparation and kitchen safety skills as they prepare dishes from every part of the menu. Students cap off their year by taking a field trip to The Painted Teacup, a local tea house, which is financed by a student run bake sale. Enrollment limited to 6 students.
Guitar II
This elective is for students who have experience with the guitar. Returning CHEER students who took the guitar elective in Spring 2018 will continue their study in this class. Students who are new to CHEER but have studied guitar in the past may arrange to be evaluated by the instructor for enrollment. Students perform as a group at the end-of-semester performance.
Sewing 101
This elective is for students of all experience levels who want to learn new swing skills. We will be working on simple projects to familiarize students with the basics of sewing: using a sewing machine, hand stitching, cutting out a pattern, pinning, types of fabric & their uses and more!
